Successful Goal Setting

"Most people who have difficulty with goal setting, fail as they
have not clearly defined them. Nor have they ever really considered
them as believable or achievable.

Achievers will tell you where they are going, how they plan to get
there, and who they will be taking with them for the ride.

To put it simply there are 4 aspects you must clarify in setting
effective goals.

-Define your goals
-Believe in your goals
-Develop a plan
-Surround yourself with professionals.

Most goal setting books and tutorials concentrate far too much on
the first two points. No single point is more important that the
other.

They also mostly tell you to be ambitious, set goals that
are "BIG". The reasoning is that you will only achieve what you ask
for.

It is true that if you only set a small target, you will
probably only get to that target and not beyond.

On the other hand if you have not had success in setting goals,
you need to build your confidence in the process and your ability
to succeed on your very next goal.

So lets set a smaller goal to start with, you can always make it a
much bigger goal once you have had success with the first one.

OK so lets take a closer look at each point and remember that all
four points rely on each other for success...

1. Define Your Goals:

Your goal setting must be specific. Yes that means identifying
dates and amounts. So if you are starting a new home based business,
you may want to be earning $100,000-00 per annum. You must take that
figure and add a relevant time frame. Lets say 2 years from now.

That is a great goal, but at this stage it might be a bit too big,
and it may also be difficult to actually believe.

So lets refine the goal to; "I will be earning $1000-00 per
month by the 31st January 2008". (note this article was written on
1st November 2007 so I have simply allowed for three months as a
relevant time frame)

Notice how I have used the phrase "I WILL be...". Avoid the use
of any words that are not positive.

I have also set the goal as an achievable target. If you were to aim at
increasing that by about 25% per month, your big goal will be a piece
of cake. This will however, give you a short time frame to stay focussed,
and build your confidence.

The Single Most Important Thing About Internet Marketing

What do you think it is?

-Your marketing prowess
-The price of your products and or services
-The speed of your internet connection
-The design of your web sites and or pages
-Keyword research
-etc, etc, etc

My answer is pretty simple and if it is your aim to build an ethical and sustainable online business, then you absolutely must provide a High Quality Product.

Now there are numerous products you can provide, and that may even include, and probably will, the provision of someone else's products.

But no matter what you do, if you always put your name to high quality products, then the other aspects to building your business will be a whole lot easier.

No I did not say it would make it easy - just a whole lot easier.

So having written your purpose, I would recommend that your next step is to identify the most basic product you can develop that relates to your purpose. Try not to get carried away writing your 300 page Ebook that is going to be the centre piece of your business and make you millions.
Just start with writing lets say the forward to that book. This would be a brief summary of what you want the reader to gain from your manuscript. Keep it to less than 1000 words.

Make it really conversational and save it into a folder in "My Documents" and lets call that folder "Articles". Go one step further and call it add the name of your topic, lets say "articles dogs" or something similar.

Come back again soon and I will show you what to do with that article.

No don't read on just go and do it now for taking action is very high up the list of importance in a successful business. You do not need to research anything more until you have written your first article.

See you then
